In case you were wondering, will PS5 be launched in 2019, what resolution it will support? These and other questions were answered by Sony’s next-gen PlayStation lead system architect Mark Cerny in an interview with Wired.
We need to note, that the name for next-gen PlayStation is not yet confirmed, but historically we can guess – it will be named PlayStation 5 (PS5).
These are keynotes of the interview:
*PS5 will not be launched in 2019.
*The next-gen console can support 8K display, but we do not know yet if it truly will be 8K.
*Current PS VR headset will be compatible with PS5.
*It may support 3D Audio, as Mark Cerny said, this feature “will make you feel more immersed in the game as sounds come at you from above, from behind, and from the side.”
*“A true game-changer” will be incorporated SSD in console, which would make loading screen 19 times faster and smoother open-world games stream.
*You will be able to use physical disks.
*This will be a gentle transition between PS4 and PS5, there will be a lot of new games released for both consoles PS4 and PS5, moreover, You will be able to play PS4 games on PS5 (backward-compatible).
